moodle

Via Moodle Tutorials, read and see some videos about Microsoft Live services adapted to work with Moodle by visiting here. This allows users to sign-in with their Windows Live ID. This reminds me of what the Google Apps are doing by integrating with Moodle. Can Microsoft compete in the education field with Google?

LectureScribe: Free Whiteboard Recording Tool

lecturescribe

LectureScribe is a really simple to use tool that lets you record and capture Whiteboard-style notes with audio. It is easy to install and was developed by Brian Dean from Clemson University. Best of all, it is FREE! This is something that allows professors to easily record short lectures and solve math problems on the fly for students. It exports the file to a SWF so they can be easily uploaded to a website or LMS. Even if you don’t have a tablet PC, I think this is something really handy to have. It doesn’t really replace products like Camtasia or Mimio, but it is definetely more flexible and easy to use. Click here to download.

Blackboard has just released an application for the iPhone. It’s free. I went right away and tried to install it, but, it does not work with my university’s version of Blackboard. You can check out more details on the iPhone application here. This is definetely interesting and I think a big step in the right direction for Blackboard.
